BA Mentorship offers self-guided Business Analyst project simulations for practical BA training, with fictional scenarios, guided exercises, SQL practice and portfolio work. What is included depends on the edition.
Practise doing the work: understand a situation, build an artifact and explain the decision behind it.
The public demo is open without an account. Sales are closed; paid hosted access is not on sale.

FIND YOUR STARTING POINT
Different starting points. A clear next task.
New to business analysis
Start with the free demo to see the format. Core includes 30 foundation lessons if you want concept explanations alongside wider practice. Starter is a narrower option for project discussion and interview notes.
Use Experience Lab if one banking project and guided data practice match your goal. Bring your transferable experience into your own responses; simulated work is not a substitute for real employment history.
Starter may be enough when you need the banking project walkthrough and 30 interview prompts. Choose a higher edition only for the additional tools or domains you intend to use.
Core offers three domains. Advanced adds three more plus rescue and capstone work for diagnosing issues and defending decisions. You still assess the quality of your own reasoning.
Need live coaching, personal career advice or human review of every submission? Those are different forms of support from this self-guided product. Check the format before choosing an edition.
SEE THE KIND OF WORK YOU WILL CREATE
From a claim to a reasoned artifact.
A read-only interactive display, using a newly written library scenario. These are illustrative screen arrangements, not screenshots or paid curriculum solutions.
ILLUSTRATIVE · FICTIONAL
Start with an observation, then ask a question.
Illustrative stakeholder/evidence view. Author-created library scenario; no real research or learner record.
STAFF CLAIM
“People keep asking where they are in the queue.”
This is a librarian’s report, not a measured finding.
FICTIONAL OBSERVATION
One acknowledgement leaves the next step unclear.
In this display example, a reservation is acknowledged without saying whether a copy is ready to collect.
Useful follow-up: What should a member do when the request is received but no copy is ready?
ILLUSTRATIVE · FICTIONAL
Make the next action testable.
Illustrative requirements view. Compare a vague first draft with an explicit condition and outcome.
ILLUSTRATIVE ACCEPTANCE CRITERION
Tell the member what “received” means
Given a request has been received and a copy is not yet ready,
When the acknowledgement is shown,
Then it states “Request received — wait for a collection notice” and does not describe the book as ready.
Proposed behavior for this fictional example. It has not been tested with members.
Compare the first draft
“Make the reservation status clear and user-friendly.”
The revision identifies a condition, a message and a next action. It still needs review against a real service’s policies and accessibility needs.
ILLUSTRATIVE · FICTIONAL
A query result still needs an interpretation.
Illustrative SQL view, shown read-only. The query and values below are a small display example; no query is executed here.
Illustrative table: book_requestsrequest_id · queue · status

Interpretation: Four requests are waiting in this example. The count does not tell us how long they have waited or whether members understand the message.
ILLUSTRATIVE · FICTIONAL
Keep a decision you can explain.
Illustrative finished portfolio excerpt. Written for this public page; not a customer outcome, paid solution or verified competence claim.
SIMULATED ARTIFACT · ILLUSTRATIVE
Problem statement
A library member who receives an acknowledgement may not know whether to wait or visit the branch. The proposed response is to distinguish a received request from a collection-ready copy.
Recommendation
Use a next-step message with each status, then review it with members before treating it as effective.
Evidence and limits
The stakeholder claim suggests a question worth investigating. The fictional queue count describes volume, not comprehension or service improvement.
Next validation
Check whether members can correctly explain what to do after each message. No such study has been completed for this illustration.
The free demo has one original mission and three observations. It does not include a runnable SQL or BI exercise. The display above illustrates tasks available in eligible editions.
A TANGIBLE OUTPUT
What could your own work look like?
In a mission you write an artifact, explain a decision and reflect on the evidence. Your portfolio can bring your chosen attempts together.
This example is deliberately public and newly authored. It is not a paid answer key or a real customer’s work.
ILLUSTRATIVE PROBLEM STATEMENT
Help a library member choose the next step.
“An acknowledgement tells a member that a request arrived, but does not establish that a book is ready. Make those states distinct, then test whether members can explain when to wait and when to collect.”
A proposed response for a fictional scenario. No improvement or user-study result is claimed.

Choose for the work you want to do.
Two choices suggest the smallest edition that covers that scope. No account, personal profile or saved questionnaire.
FOUR CUMULATIVE EDITIONS
Buy for your next task, when sales reopen.
Each higher edition includes the earlier tier’s scope. A larger edition is useful only if you plan to use what it adds.
